Al Qaidas letter to Mokhtar Belmokhtar

A recalcitrant terrorist leader has among other thing accused the terrorist council/high command of being incompetent, bureaucratic and aloof.

Said terrorist councils response is to send him a 25 page letter lecturing him on statements, policy, not filing expenses, missing meetings and not answering his phone in a timely manner.

That's ammatar.

Being a delusionist is pretty ammatar.

Urban dictionary wrote:Someone who is a master of their own delusions to the point where they exist in the dual planes of true and false realities, often exhibiting extreme mood swings resulting from the conflicts of planar coexistence and living in an impenetrable state of constant denial. The delusionist often has a hard time interpreting non-verbal communication, and in some extreme cases, straight-forward verbal communication, when it contradicts their false reality. Along with their failure to take even the most obvious of hints, they often have a high opinion of themselves and are obsessed with keeping their ego over-inflated to compensate for their numerous inadequacies. In an effort to illustrate some degree of normalcy, and to offset his or her frequent visitations to the false reality when relating to a particular subject matter, the delusionist will have a tendency to point out and/or over-emphasize any incident or situation that is merely a mediocrity in the true reality.

The Kremlin security agency is ammatar!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-23282308

Russia's agency responsible for the Kremlin security is buying typewriters - a move reportedly prompted by recent leaks by WikiLeaks and Edward Snowden.

A 486,540-rouble (£9,860) order for electric typewriters has been placed by the FSO agency on the state procurement website.

The FSO has not commented on why it needs the old-fashioned devices.

But an agency source told Russia's Izvestiya newspaper the aim was to prevent leaks from computer hardware.

"After scandals with the distribution of secret documents by WikiLeaks, the exposes by Edward Snowden, reports about Dmitry Medvedev being bugged during his visit to the G20 London summit (in 2009), it has been decided to expand the practice of creating paper documents," the source said.

The source added that typewriters were already being used at Russia's defence and emergencies ministries for drafts and secret notes, and some reports had been prepared for President Vladimir Putin by typewriter.

Unlike printers, every typewriter had its own individual typing pattern which made it possible to link every document to a particular machine, Izvestiya said.

Mr Snowden, a former CIA contractor, has recently leaked thousands of classified US intelligence documents.

He is currently on the run from the US authorities, and is believed to be at Moscow's airport.

WikiLeaks grabbed world headlines in 2010 by releasing hundreds of thousands of US state department diplomatic cables, including secret files relating to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Jubba Airways, a somali airline, is pretty ammatar.

Excerpts (some parts are bolded by yours truly):
In its early days, 15 years ago, the Jubba Airways fleet consisted entirely of battered relics from the former Soviet Union: Ilyushin-18 twin-engine turboprops. “They were not the best quality, but nobody other than Ilyushin operators were willing to go to Somalia at that time,” said Abdullahi Warsame, Jubba’s managing director, who was accompanying me on this flight to Mogadishu.

Because Jubba is registered in Kenya, the airline is obliged by law to hire, with a few exceptions, Kenyan citizens for maintenance staff and its in-flight crews on international flights.

Jubba’s quality is hit or miss. In a blog post, one passenger described one of Jubba’s Antonovs as a piece of “Soviet dereliction” in which a family of five sat piled into three seats. “We had to board an old Russian plane. In total darkness,” an online reviewer wrote of his “flight from hell” to Hargeisa, the capital of the self-declared Terra Irridente of Somaliland. “The seats had no seat belts, there are luggage and 20 boxes on back seats, not secured. . . . Avoid by all costs.” Warsame insists that all his planes have seat belts now. “I’m thinking this must have been written by one of our Somali competitors,” he said.

Jubba also has to contend with the draconian security measures imposed on its international flights. Fearful of infiltrations by Al Shabaab militants — who have carried out grenade attacks in Nairobi and Mombasa — the Kenyan Civil Aviation Authority requires that all planes bound for Nairobi from Mogadishu land first in Wajir, a desert outpost just across the Somali border. Security teams unload and scan all the baggage and submit passengers to searches and rigorous immigration procedures. When flights are full, the process can take hours.

Although the capital has been relatively calm for the past year and a half, Jubba still offers incentives and imposes rules on its pilots. “Whenever we fly to Mogadishu, we give them combat pay,” Warsame said. “And they never stay. They land and leave as fast as they can.” Jubba pays the captain, co-pilot and flight attendants “around $100 extra” for each landing they make in Mogadishu; the bonus goes up after they make the trip several dozen times.

The Renault FT is ammatar.

It looks pretty ammatar, but the most ammatar thing about it was that the tank didn't have proper communication gear inside and the loud engine noise made even shouting impossible, so the commander (placed in the turret) gave the driver directions by kicking him.
A kick in the back meant go forward, a kick in a shoulder meant that the driver should turn in that direction, a kick in the head meant stop while repeated kicks to the head meant that the driver should put the tank in reverse.

Now that's Ammatar.

North Korean Ski Resorts are Ammatar!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2013/10/07/north-korea-calls-switzerlands-refusal-to-sell-it-ski-lifts-a-serious-human-rights-abuse/?tid=up_next

North Korea, long pegged as perhaps the world's worst human rights abuser, accused Europe of committing "serious human rights abuse" for refusing to sell ski lifts to the Hermit Kingdom. That's perhaps the most revealing little moment in its breakneck effort to build ski resorts – one with real implications for how the outside world deals with North Korea.
North Korea has been working feverishly on constructing its first-ever ski resort, a lavish project that young leader Kim Jong Un personally set as a top national priority. But it has hit a major snag: It can't get ski lifts because of sanctions.
Unlike nuclear weapons or medium-range missiles, North Korea doesn't have the technology to make its own ski lifts. But the countries that do make them all tend to be in the West, where new sanctions imposed in March make it illegal to sell luxury goods to the Hermit Kingdom. North Korea tried offering millions of dollars to Austrian and French companies to import ski lifts, but both said no.
Finally, North Korea tried to import from a Swiss company, offering $7.7 million for the lifts. It would be a logical choice: Kim went to school in Switzerland, which is presumably where he developed his very expensive love of skiing. And the country's well-known history of neutrality at times extends even to Pyongyang. When the Swiss government blocked the deal, Pyongyang had had enough. It issued a furious response via official state outlet KCNA, declaring, "This is an intolerable mockery of the social system and the people of the DPRK and a serious human rights abuse that politicizes sports and discriminates against the Koreans."
It would be tempting to dismiss the comment as mere rhetorical flourish, not meant literally but just to make a point, but we shouldn't. North Korea's state ideology is one of permanent grievance against the West, which is portrayed as systemically and maliciously persecuting the good and pure people of North Korea. There is no harm too minor or complaint too petty for the state to reiterate its outrage against the West, which is linked closely with the militant nationalism and anti-Western paranoia that are such pillars of the regime. The persecution complex and paranoia can look silly from the outside, even implausible. But they aren't bugs of the system, they're features.
Still, there are hints here of a temper tantrum on behalf of leader Kim, reportedly a big skiing fan. His concern for human rights does not appear to extend with the same enthusiasm to, for example, the ability of his own people to consistently feed themselves. That's not a major revelation, obviously, but it's rare to see such a pointed example of what the regime cares about and what it doesn't care about. How many people could that $7.7 million feed?
This incident is important for what it says about sanctions against North Korea and what sort of punishments can really hurt the regime, hopefully to steer its behavior in a slightly better direction. A major tool for a long time has been withholding food aid; that's gotten the regime worked up but it came at the cost of hurting many innocent North Korean civilians. Blocking the import of luxury goods such as ski lifts also seems to inflict some pain on the ruling powers, but without hurting regular North Koreans. That's an important lesson from the otherwise frivolous ski resort debacle.

The UK's Military Reaction Force is Ammatar!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_Reaction_Force

The Military Reaction Force, Military Reconnaissance Force or Mobile Reconnaissance Force (MRF)[1] was a covert intelligence-gathering and counter-insurgency unit of the British Army active in Belfast, Northern Ireland, during The Troubles/Operation Banner. The unit was formed during the summer of 1971[1] and operated until late 1972 or early 1973. MRF teams operated in plain-clothes and civilian vehicles, equipped with pistols and sub-machine guns. They were allegedly tasked with tracking down and arresting, or killing, suspected members of the Irish Republican Army (IRA). The MRF also ran double agents within the paramilitary groups and ran a number of front companies to gather intelligence.[2] In October 1972, the Provisional IRA uncovered and attacked two of the MRF's front companies: a mobile laundry service and a massage parlour.

The MRF killed and wounded a number of unarmed Catholic civilians in drive-by shootings and has been accused of colluding with illegal loyalist paramilitaries. It was succeeded by the SRU (or 14 Intelligence Company) and, later, by the FRU.

The 'fleet in being' is a most ammatar concept!

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fleet_in_being

In naval warfare, a "fleet in being" is a naval force that extends a controlling influence without ever leaving port. Were the fleet to leave port and face the enemy, it might lose in battle and no longer influence the enemy's actions, but while it remains safely in port, the enemy is forced to continually deploy forces to guard against it. A "fleet in being" can be part of a sea denial doctrine, but not one of sea control.

Lamido Sanusi is Ammatar!

BBC:

Nigeria's central bank governor Lamido Sanusi has been suspended by the president for "financial recklessness and misconduct".

Mr Sanusi caused shockwaves in Nigeria when he alleged that $20bn (£12bn) in oil revenue had gone missing.

Nigeria's state oil firm has denied failing to account for the money, saying the claim was "unsubstantiated".

Mr Sanusi is widely respected after undertaking reforms to the banking sector since his appointment in 2009.
